My name is Francis Kaiser. I was born in 1988 and live in Detmold in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany with my husband, our three children and our dog. I work as a freelance artist and illustrator under the artist name KAISERSWERK.
During and after my studies of art and German language and literature for the teaching profession at the University of Paderborn, I worked in schools and in the field of museum education. The focus of my pedagogical work has always been the practical and theoretical introduction to art.
In 2022, I turned my passion for painting and drawing into my main profession.
I produce free paintings, illustrations and commissioned works.
about my work
The main focus of my work is realistic portraits, figurative representations and illustrations from the field of politics and current affairs as well as editorial. I am also interested in cover design for children's and youth books. The depiction of people and their moments has always fascinated me and has therefore long been one of my main motifs.
The style of my work is characterised by a mix of collage, drawing and painting. The current works are mainly created digitally. For this I use Adobe Fresco and the iPad Pro. My free paintings are printed on high-quality Hahnemühle paper. Details and subtleties are then reworked with colored pencils and chalk. This creates a unique original.
My artistic roots lie in acrylic painting and pencil drawing.
I am particularly pleased that my work is seen and awarded internationally. In December 2022 I was announced as one of the 12 finalists of the Malamegi LAB MILAN'22 art prize.
Since the end of 2021, my work has been awarded periodically on Behance in the Adobe Fresco illustration section.
